Nearly 200 Kalashnikovs, thousands of rounds seized in Turkey’s biggest blow to PKK terror

The Turkish armed forces seized the largest-ever weapon haul from the PKK during anti-terror operations on May 8 in the Incebel mountain range in southeastern Turkey's Şırnak. On Wednesday, the military announced that 188 more Kalashnikovs and tens of thousands of rounds had been seized.

Military sources stated that the Turkish military located caves 53 used by PKK terrorists and raided them. The caves seemed more complex than anticipated, with one of the caves having a 23-meter-long rope ladder to get to the bottom.

In one of the more recently located caves, three PK machine guns, three anti-aircraft weapons, over 67,000 PK machine gun rounds, 5,100 exploding-bridgewire detonators were seized in addition to the 188 Kalashnikov long-barrelled rifles.

Five tons of explosive ammonium nitrate were also seized in the raids.
