3 Turkish soldiers killed as PKK terrorists attack van transporting military personnel meals to base


Three Turkish soldiers died in a PKK terrorist attack targeting a vehicle belonging to the military in southeastern Şırnak province.

The vehicle was transporting military personnel's meals to the Elmalı military base attached to the National Gendarmerie Commando Base located in Uludere district bordering Iraq, where the PKK has camps to launch attacks on Turkey.

The three soldiers, who were heavily injured by automatic rifle fire, died of their wounds at the Şırnak State Hospital.

An operation was launched in the area to capture the terrorists.

In a separate statement, Turkish military said at least 10 terrorists were killed in air strikes in eastern Bingöl province.
