TRT World, Turkey's first English news channel, is set to organize a series of events in 10 different countries to discuss the July 15 coup attempt and related issues.

As the one-year anniversary of the failed coup nears, the TRT World Research Centre, the think-tank extension of TRT World, announced Tuesday that it will host events with prominent think tanks on the impact of the coup attempt on Turkish politics and its repercussions on the daily lives of Turkish people.

The events will be held in Azerbaijan, the U.K., Belgium, Russia, Japan, Qatar, Iran, South Africa, Bosnia and Canada, and will kick off in July. The final panel is scheduled for September.

Other issues that will be discussed in the panels include contemporary trends and developments in Turkish politics and foreign policy as well as the efforts and progress made in Turkey's fight against the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ).

The first panel will take place in Baku on Wednesday with QAFSAM. Necdet Ünüvar, President of Turkish-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Group, Ayşe Keşir, Member of the Parliament and Fatih Er, TRT World News Director are among the speakers. There will be two other panels taking place this week in London on July 14 in collaboration with RUSI, and in Japan on July 18 at the SASAKAWA Peace Foundation.

Presidential Senior Advisor Gülnur Aybet, Fatma Ceren Yazgan from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Resul Serdar Ataş, TRT World Program Director will be the panelists in London.

At the event a book titled "History and Memory: TRT World in the Face of July 15 Coup", prepared by the TRT World Research Center and deals with the background, nature, the leading actors of the coup attempt and which tells the experiences of TRT World employees on the night of July 15 and the following morning, will also be introduced.
