Security forces detained 10 Iraqi nationals on Monday for alleged links to the Daesh terrorist group, according to a Turkish police source. A local court issued arrest warrants for the suspects on orders from the chief public prosecutor in Çorum, said the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

A cellphone and laptop were seized in the operation, the source added.

Nearly 190 suspects linked to Daesh were arrested in counterterrorism operations across Turkey last month, according to data from security officials.

At least 319 people have lost their lives in Daesh attacks in Turkey, where the terrorist organization has targeted civilians in suicide bombings and rocket and gun attacks.

In 2015, Daesh's largest attack killed 107 people as two suicide bombers targeted peace protesters outside Ankara's main train station in October. With Turkey's ongoing anti-Daesh operations, the terrorist group has been blocked from carrying out attacks on civilians. Turkey also cleared its southern border with Syria from Daesh terrorists during Operation Euphrates Shield.

Daesh terrorist attacks in Turkey, which increased between July 2015 and August 2016, and killed nearly 300 people, drastically decreased after the operation was launched on Aug. 24, 2016. After that, Daesh has only managed to carry out one attack in Turkey.
