A PKK terrorist organization senior regional leader and two other suspected terrorists were killed in eastern Tunceli province on Sunday in a counterterrorism operation.

The Special Operations Team of the provincial gendarmerie command of Tunceli launched an operation in the town of Pülümür, Tunceli on Sunday. One of the three terrorists who were killed in the operation was Hasan Yaman, a senior PKK leader in the Tunceli region who went by the code name "Şervan."

Another PKK terrorist was killed in a counterterrorism operation in the eastern province of Bingöl on Sunday, according to the Provincial Governor's Office. The operation was conducted in Ceribaş, a small town in the Adaklı district, the statement said.

A police officer was also killed in a clash between security forces and PKK terrorists in southeastern Hakkari province on Sunday, the governor's office confirmed in a statement. The clash occurred in the Şemdinli district and also left another officer wounded, according to the statement, which said that the injured police officer was rushed to Hakkari State Hospital.

Security forces have killed 14 terrorists across the country in the past week, the Interior Ministry said on Monday. According to information provided by the ministry, 13 others surrendered between July 31 and Aug. 7.

During the week, 1,518 counterterrorism operations were carried out, leading to 150 arrests of suspects accused of aiding the PKK. A total of 74 were arrested for suspected links to Daesh while 448 others were detained for suspected ties to the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) and 18 others for alleged links to far-left groups.

Turkey's narcotics unit has conducted more than 1,800 raids across 76 provinces, according to the Interior Ministry. The arrests have led to multiple raids resulting in the seizure of 4,409 kilograms of cannabis, 86 kilograms of heroin, 156,476 tablets as well as smuggled tobacco and fuel.

In a crackdown on illegal migrants, at least 2,532 individuals were detained, including 65 who were allegedly engaged in human trafficking.

In other operations across the country, 163 people were arrested for illegal street trading, and 157 others were detained on charges of making "terror propaganda" on social media.
