2 Turkish soldiers killed in PKK attack in northern Iraq


Two Turkish soldiers were killed and three others were injured in northern Iraq as PKK terrorists detonated a bomb during a convoy's passage and subsequent clash, Turkish military said Monday.

A statement by the Turkish Armed Forces said that one of the soldiers remain in critical condition after the attack in Zap region.

Whereas an airstrike held after the attack killed eight PKK terrorists, it added.

The area is right across the Çukurca district of Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province.

PKK uses the mountainous area in northern Iraq to group and conduct attacks inside Turkish territory.
