Police in Turkey's Izmir province detained 10 Daesh-linked terrorist suspects in anti-terror operations early Sunday.

Counter-terror squads carried out simultaneous raids in Izmir's Menemen and central districts, detaining the suspects, including two females and a Syrian national.

Digital materials and documents have been seized in the operations, reports said.

The suspects were brought to the hospital for a routing health check up and were then transferred to the police headquarters for testimony.

Police had detained 63 other Daesh-linked suspects in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Şanlıurfa provinces Saturday.

Since Daesh has emerged as a terrorist group in war-torn Syria, Turkey has detained over 5,000 Daesh suspects and deported over 3,290 foreign terrorist fighters from 95 countries and refused more than 38,269 individuals' entry to Turkey.

According to Turkey's Justice Ministry, at least 780 people, including 350 foreigners, remain in detention — some of whom have been convicted — for suspected links to the Daesh terrorist group.
