Swedish police raid pro-PKK broadcaster's office

The headquarters of pro-PKK Aryen TV was raided by Swedish police late Tuesday on charges of forgery of documents and money laundering.

According to the Swedish Dagens Nyheter newspaper, police stopped the broadcast during the raid and detained one person.

A police spokesperson confirmed the raid and said it was carried out at the request of the tax administration.

In October 2016, the broadcast of Newroz TV, which had made propaganda for the PKK in Europe, was ceased by Eutelsat, a French satellite operator, upon request of Turkey's Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK).

The PKK, which was formed in 1979, and has been carrying out a armed separatist campaign, is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU.
