96 PKK terrorists killed in northern Iraq, says Turkish military

Some 96 PKK terrorists were killed, and two ammunitions depots were destroyed in anti-terror operations carried out in northern Iraq last Friday, the Turkish military announced in a statement Friday.

The airstrikes were carried out on the Qandil and Zap mountain areas, the statement said.

Meanwhile, 36 kilograms of explosive materials, several remote detonators and bomb setups were found in a separate operation in Turkey's eastern Van province.

Security forces also disposed of two explosive devices and a land mine, and seized 60 AK-47 machine guns in another anti-terror operation in the southeastern Şırnak province.
