Mecca sees floods of followers

Currently hosting approximately four million pious Muslims performing the Hadj pilgrimage, the Mecca is flooded with people all over the city.

The Hadj participants made sacrifices the day before yesterday. Then, yesterday they circumambulated the Kaaba and stoned the devil in Mina.
All roads leading to Harem-i Şerif are packed with people at all hours of the day, however when prayer time approaches or during the time following the ceremony, it is nearly impossible to even walk along Mecca's roads.
The biggest difficulties faced by fellow Muslims wanting to pray at the Kaaba is the crowds and the unbearable heat, which can reach up to 40 degrees Celsius at midday.
Due to the traffic, taxis are no longer the preferred method of reaching the Kaaba. It now takes a taxi 30 minutes to make the three kilometers' distance and therefore followers are choosing to venture out by motorcycle instead, while those healthier participants prefer to walk.
