Sony’s new marketing gimmick: Waterproof MP3 players in water bottles
The technology giant promotes its newest product with an extraordinary ad
One of the biggest consumer electronics manufacturer Sony Corporation is making use of an interesting method to sell their new waterproof MP3 players.
By immersing the MP3 players in bottles, the company boldly prove the quality of its product.
Sony contacted Auckland-based advertisement agency DraftFCB to launch its product in New Zealand. The agency came up with a thought provoking idea, in their term the 'Bottled Walkman'.
Being specifically designed for swimmers, the product put in a water filled bottle and is sold in vending machines at gyms and pools.
