A group of Canadian activists are trying out a new social experiment called 'Hug a Muslim', which aimed to show that Muslims and non-Muslims can peacefully "coexist" despite the rising Islamophobia in the western world. The three-minute video, which was posted on YouTube last week, features a blindfolded man in downtown Toronto standing next to a sign reading, "I am a Muslim. I am labelled as a terrorist and I trust you. Do you trust me? Give me a hug."The video shows that several strangers passing by stopped and gladly gave the man a hug. A man at the end of the video gets out of his car to hug him and swiftly returns to his vehicle.
