Sunni Baluch cleric Molavi Yousef Gorgij was killed by "Zionist mercenaries" outside his home in the southeastern Iranian city of Zahedan, state broadcaster IRIB reported Monday.

The state-run outlet gave no further details, saying additional information would be released later.

The killing came five days after Sunni Kurdish cleric Mamosta Mohammad Nezhati was also reportedly killed in the country's northwestern West Azerbaijan province.
