First lady Emine Erdoğan will address participants at meetings in New York focusing on climate, sustainable development and safe digital systems for children as world leaders gather for the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
Emine Erdoğan, who chairs the U.N. High-Level Advisory Board of Eminent Persons on Zero Waste, accompanies President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his visit to New York for the General Assembly.
As part of her program in the U.S., the first lady will first meet with economist Jeffrey Sachs before attending the opening ceremony of New York Climate Week 2026.
She will deliver the opening remarks for the second session, titled "Real Momentum, Concrete Transformation.”
Her program will also include the World Economic Forum’s Sustainable Development Impact Meetings.
Emine Erdoğan will attend a meeting organized by Türkiye’s Ministry of Family and Social Services at U.N. Headquarters titled "Invisible Architecture: Building Safe Digital Systems for Children – Advancing International Standards and Shared Responsibility.”
She will deliver a speech at the meeting and share her assessments on protecting children in the digital environment.
The event is being held under her patronage as a side event of the 81st U.N. General Assembly.
Emine Erdoğan will also join President Erdoğan at the "100 Years of Friendship: Türkiye-United States Event” and attend his address from the General Assembly Hall at U.N. headquarters.
Her program will also include a "High-Level Dialogue with the International Energy Agency” at the Trusteeship Council Chamber at U.N. headquarters.
Emine Erdoğan will meet with spouses of heads of state and government at a reception hosted by U.S. first lady Melania Trump.
President Erdoğan and Emine Erdoğan will also attend a reception hosted by the Trump couple in honor of heads of state and government and their spouses.
The first lady will hold bilateral meetings with several leaders’ spouses at the Turkish House.
President Erdoğan and Emine Erdoğan will also attend an event organized by the Turkish American Steering Committee (TASC), the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MÜSIAD) and the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO).
