Türkiye’s Ministry of Family and Social Services is preparing to launch a new digital platform to make it easier for people to take part in volunteer activities and strengthen social solidarity.
The "Iyilik Var” ("There Is Goodness") digital volunteering platform will be launched on Sept. 12 with the participation of Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, chairperson of the board of trustees of the Ilim Yayma Foundation.
The platform will bring together individual and institutional volunteers with activities identified by the ministry’s affiliated institutions and provincial directorates based on local needs.
It will offer hundreds of volunteer opportunities for different groups, including children, elderly people, women, people with disabilities, relatives of martyrs and veterans, and people receiving social assistance.
Among the planned activities are university preparation support for young people living in children’s homes, as well as art, music and marbling activities for elderly people.
Women will also be able to benefit from volunteer-led activities focused on financial literacy, personal development and vocational training.
The platform will also organize social activities with relatives of martyrs and veterans and provide accessible art and social activities to support the participation of people with disabilities in social life.
Training for volunteers
Volunteers will be able to search for activities based on their interests and skills and sign up through the platform.
Training modules will also be available to help volunteers carry out their activities safely and effectively. These will cover topics such as communication with people with disabilities, first aid, women’s rights and privacy for elderly people.
The ministry’s provincial directorates and affiliated institutions will be integrated into the system to coordinate activities, guide volunteers and track their participation.
A key part of the platform, called "Iyilik Kapısı” ("Door of Goodness"), will allow shopkeepers and professionals to provide goods and services to people in need.
Grocers, tailors, repair workers, dentists, psychological counselors and other professionals will be able to offer their skills or services. Beneficiaries will be able to access the support through one-time digital codes assigned to them.
The initiative aims to connect people in need directly with local businesses and professionals while bringing the traditional spirit of community solidarity into the digital volunteering system.
The platform will also introduce a tiered reward system to encourage people to volunteer regularly.
Volunteers will be able to track their participation, helping make volunteer activities more organized and measurable.
Available through a website and mobile application, the platform will bring volunteering opportunities from different provinces together in one digital system, making it easier for citizens to find activities where support is needed.
The ministry aims to expand the culture of volunteering across society and encourage both individuals and institutions to take a more active role in social responsibility efforts.
