A hooded attacker opened fire Tuesday outside a hotel in downtown Barcelona near the Spanish city's popular Las Ramblas boulevard, leaving two people injured, police said.
One person was struck by bullets while the other was hurt as they tried to flee the shooter, a regional police spokeswoman said.
The shooter fled the scene and was being sought by police. No suspected motive for the attack was given.
Police did not provide details about the two victims, who were taken to hospital for treatment.
