Gallery Bohem, which aims to bring a breath of fresh air to gallery management, is hosting painter Pınar Kalem's 13th solo exhibition "Women's States of Love." The exhibition will run until Feb. 17 and feature many women and flower figures painted using a scraper technique. Born in Istanbul in 1970, Kalem received her bachelor's degree from the Department of Spanish Language and Literature at Istanbul University. From 1993 to 1995, she attended pattern and oil painting courses at New York's Parsons New School for Design. She also participated in visual narration training at Steven Scott Gallery in Maryland and Light House Gallery. The artist attended scraper workshops in Paris, Maison, Alford, Dover and Amien, and focuses her scraper techniques in her works. The artist, whose works are featured in many collections both in Turkey and abroad, continues her artistic journey at her workshop in Arnavutköy, Istanbul.
