Beşiktaş, which has not had a stadium since May 2013, has impatiently been waiting for the opening of their new stadium, Vodafone Arena. They have started the countdown to the opening on April 11. However, the new stadium has already paid for itself. Beşiktaş spent TL 350 million ($121.9 million) for Vodafone Arena. The Black Eagles will earn more than they spent from sponsorship deals. Moreover, they have already sold all season passes. The club agreed to a $111 million deal with Vodafone for naming the stadium after the GSM brand. Vodafone also invested $10 million for the substructure of the new stadium. One of the sponsors, DenizBank, will pay Beşiktaş $4.5 million for five years. The other sponsor, Spor Toto, will pay TL 50 million. Beşiktaş's total income from sponsors will exceed TL 380 million.
Meanwhile, 147 executive suites seats in the new stadium were sold for prices ranging from $35,000 to $300,000. With 2,147 VIP lounges, Beşiktaş will earn more than TL 50 million a year from spectators. The stadium is being built on the site of Beşiktaş's former home, BJK İnönü Stadium. It will have a capacity of approximately 43,500 spectators, after initially being planned for 41,903.
The "1903 stand" will have a capacity of 636 spectators. The new stadium will also have 2,123 square meters of restaurants, 2,520 square meters of terrace restaurants and a VIP parking capacity of 600 vehicles. In conjunction with Cisco, Vodafone Arena will be a smart stadium where fans will enjoy StadiumVision and high-speed Wi-Fi technology.
