The Turkish Parliament Speaker's Office has received 9 files on parliamentary immunity from the Prime Ministry, including one on pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputy Faysal Sarıyıldız on charges of "supplying arms to the terrorist organization."
Sarıyıldız was being accused of helping smuggling weapons from Syria into Turkey to be delivered to PKK, a claim denied by Sarıyıldız himself.
The eight remaining files, signed by the Deputy Prime Minister Yalçın Akdoğan, concern Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, CHP deputy chairman and Samsun deputy Haluk Koç, CHP general secretary and Istanbul deputy Gürsel Tekin, CHP Istanbul deputy Aykut Erdoğdu, CHP Mersin deputy Aytuğ Atıcı, the Justice and Development (AK) Party Osmaniye deputy Suat Önal and HDP deputy chairperson Pervin Buldan.
As the parliament is on holiday, the files will be sent to the parliamentary justice committee only after the general assembly reconvenes on October 1.
