Nusra Front fighters get BGM-71 anti-tank TOW missiles directly from the United States, the German Focus magazine claimed on Tuesday, giving reference to a top commander of the terror organization.

German journalist Jürgen Todenhöfer reported that the commander, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed to the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger, "They gave us missiles directly. The Americans are on our side."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan last week stated that the use of a terrorist organization by the United States to destroy another terrorist organization was a mistake and it harmed Turkey.

"Turkey is suffering at the hands of the terrorist organization that you seem to be defending," he said.

The U.S. administration along with Russia and the United Nations consider the Nusra Front a terrorist organization, but recent reports of armament by the country to fight Daesh, have upset Turkish officials.

Erdoğan called for the international anti-Daesh coalition, made up of 65 countries, to "bring down Daesh" without the help of terrorist groups.
