The White House is dispatching top national security officials to Silicon Valley to seek the tech industry's help in disrupting the Daesh group and other terrorists.
The FBI director, attorney general and director of national intelligence are all slated to attend Friday's meeting in San Jose, California. President Barack Obama's chief of staff and counterterrorism adviser will also attend.
An agenda obtained by The Associated Press says the government will offer an unclassified briefing about how terrorists use technology, including encryption. The officials and tech leaders will discuss ways to make it harder for terrorists to recruit and radicalize people online and to organizing attacks on the Internet.
They'll also explore ways to promote alternative messages to counter Daesh and make it easier for law enforcement to thwart attacks.
