A 21-year-old Michigan man has been accused of supporting DAESH after an FBI informant who was hired to communicate with him ensnared him, The Intercept reported on Wednesday.
After a while, Khalil Abu Rayyan was understood to have fallen in love with the FBI agent, who pretended as if she was a DAESH supporter.
According to transcripts of conversations between the two, Rayyan was motivated by the desire to impress the woman not by religious extremism, and therefore he will not be charged with terrorism. The FBI, however, is treating the case as a national security concern.
