Turkish Flower Carpet covers the Grand Place in Brussels

A giant flower carpet, with Turkish Uşak carpet patterns made with 600,000 begonia flowers has been placed at the Grand-Place in the center of Brussels to mark the 50th anniversary of the Turkish immigration in Belgium.
The 1,800 square metre carpet measures 75 meters long and 25 meters wide, was put together by 120 volunteers in 4 days.
Visitors have the opportunity to see the carpet on Aug. 15-17 whether from the Grand-Place itself or from the balcony of the City Hall of Brussels.
