The Directorate General of State Theaters announced that they would stage 22 plays free of charge on March 27, which is World Theater Day. According to a statement released by the directorate, the event will enable about 6,500 to watch plays for free and will feature six children's plays. Theater lovers can get their tickets from the counters of state theaters or related general directorates. The play "Neşe, Dert, Aşk" (Joy, Trouble, Love) will be presented at the Küçük Theater in Ankara. Theater lovers in Ankara will be able to see "Son Tango" (Last Tango) at the Akün Stage, "Meraklısı İçin Öyle Bir Hikaye" (A Story for Those who Are Interested) at the Stüdyo Stage and "Canım Ailem" (My Dear Family) at the Şinasi Stage.
Istanbul State Theaters will stage "The Life in My Hands" at Cevahir Hall 1, "İkinci Dereceden İşsizlik Yanığı" (Second Stage Unemployment Burn) at Cevahir Hall 2 and "Nice Yıllara" (Happy Birthday) at the Çaycuma Tour Stage. The children's plays "Çiçeğim Solmasın" (Don't Let My Flower Die Down) will be staged at the Küçükçekmece Cultural Center, "Rurnima and The Forest of Secrets" at the Kozyatağı Cultural Center and "LayLayLom" at Üsküdar Stüdyo Stage. İzmir Stage Theaters will present the play "Kurban" (Sacrifice) at the Konak Stage and "Locomotive" at the Urla Municipality AKM Stage, free of charge. Bursa State Theaters is currently hosting the third Balkan Countries Theater Festival and will present "Avalanche" by the Bulgarian Köstendil Municipality Theater at the AVP Stage, Adana State Theaters will put on Tiyatro Martı's production of "Hoşgeldin Boyacı" (Welcome, Painter) at the Hacı Ömer Sabancı Cultural Center and Trabzon State Theaters will stage "Bayram Yeri" (Festival Area) at the Atapark Haluk Ongan.
Diyarbakır State Theater will present the children's play "Loving Cloud" at the Cahit Sait Tarancı Cultural Center, Antalya State Theaters will stage Roland Schimmelpfennig's "the Woman from the Past" and "Nasrettin Hoca Bir Gün" (One Day Nasrettin Hodja) at the Haşim İşcan Cultural Center, Erzurum State Theaters will present "Ayrılık" (Break Up), Konya State Theaters will stage "Demir" (Iron) and Sivas State Theaters will stage "Ziyaretçi" (Guest) at the Atatürk Cultural Center.
