The countdown to the world's first Instagram horror series has started. "Eşik" ("Threshold") starring Erkan Çelik and Gizem Nur Doğa will be the first horror series to ever be broadcasted on Instagram. Each 59-second episode will be posted on an Instagram account. Erdoğan Eyrik wrote the screenplay for the 10-episode thriller-horror series and co-directed it with Seyithan Kartal.
New episodes of the series will be broadcast twice a week. The cast includes Gökhan Kalafat, Serdar Sezgin Güvenç, Burak Gürses, Ercan Geçkin, Şule Yılmaz, Neslihan Yalçın, Eren Arifer, Erol Göç, Kenan Yalçın and Gizem Erkoç. After Instagram, the series will also be available on YouTube and Twitter.
"Eşik" features an exceptional plot detailing the story of a middle-aged man named Fikret who lost his wife a year ago. Depressed after her death, Fikret completely isolates himself from the community and moves to a house outside the city. The only person who accompanies him is Kasım, his gardener. Fikret claims two things. First, that he killed two of the three people responsible for his wife's death, and second that the souls of the two he killed still haunt him. Between the disembodied voices he hears and the mysteries shadowed in every corner, every night feels more threatening than the last. In an attempt to protect himself and his sanity, he works out ways to deal with the unseen threats.
