At least five militants attacked a police training college near Pakistan's southwestern city of Quetta late Monday, the military said, adding that troops had arrived at the site and had begun an operation.
"5-6 terrorists attacked police training centre hostel. Army and FC troops arrived on the site. Operation underway," the statement said.
200 military students are said to be held hostage by the militants.
