The rivalry between Turkish teams carries on in different fields across different European leagues in different sports. This season Turkish teams have played against each other in a number of important international sporting competitions.

Basketball and volleyball teams that represent Turkey in European tournaments have played against each other in nine matches. This rivalry between Turkish teams will be repeated at least five more international games.

Basketball teams Fenerbahçe Ülker and Anadolu Efes, who compete in the same group in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16, met at the Abdi İpekçi Arena in the last game of the first half of the second round and Fenerbahçe Ülker managed to win the game by 77-71. The two Turkish teams will play against each other one more time on April 9 or 10 at the Ülker Sports Arena for the last game of the Top 16.

The rivalry between Turkish basketball teams also continues in the ULEB Eurocup. On the second round of the cup, both Beşiktaş Integral Forex and Pınar Karşıyaka compete in Group M. İzmir-based team Pınar Karşıyaka beat Beşiktaş Integral Forex 105-77 in Istanbul and 73-64 in İzmir. While Pınar Karşıyaka won all of its six games in their group, Beşiktaş claimed third place in their group with two wins and four losses. While Pinar Karşıyaka continues in the cup among the top 16 teams, Beşiktaş unfortunately said goodbye to European competition.

Turkish teams also played against each other in six matches in women's basketball. Fenerbahçe and Abdullah Gül University competed in the same group in the first tour of the FIBA Women's EuroLeague. Fenerbahçe managed to beat Abdullah Gül University by 84-78 in the first match, and 73-57 in the second match. Fenerbahçe, who finished the first tour as the leader of its group, matched up with former champion Galatasaray Odeabank in the next round. The eternal rivalry will continue on March 3 at Fenerbahçe's home and on March 6 at Galatasaray's home. If there is a tie, Fenerbahçe will host the last match on March 11.

Competition between Turkish female basketball teams was also observed in the EuroCup. Orduspor and Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi Sports Club were in the same group in the first round. Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi Sports Club claimed a 79-66 win against Orduspor at home. The team also won the second game 65-62 in the away match. Orduspor left the EuroCup during the group phase, while Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi Sports Club exited in the quarter-finals.

Istanbul University BGD and Beşiktaş, the two other Turkish teams in the EuroCup, competed against each other in the quarter-final. Istanbul University BGD claimed a 72-68 win against Beşiktaş at home. During the playoff match, Beşiktaş lost the game 60-58 and Istanbul University BGD moved into the semi-final.

Turkish teams competing together in Europe isn't a phenomena reserved only for basketball.
