The world’s leading book, music and entertainment products store Virgin Megastore, has opened their first shop in the Beyoğlu Demirören Shopping Center.
For Virgin Megastore's first store in Turkey, a 200,000 dollar investment was made to include an iPad system on every stand. Customers will be able to watch movie previews and also acquire information about albums and books off of the new iPad system which will act as an example for other Virgin Megastores throughout the world.
With 65,000 books on offer, Virgin Megastore officially has the largest book profile in the country. According to Turkey General Manager Bülent Kuyucu, they are currently engaged in aggressive growth and plan to open their second store this year. According to Kuyucu, to open the store cost two million Euros, while the products inside are worth 3.5 million Euros. Emphasizing that the focus was on hiring employees that not only have retail experience but are also well versed on the products; whether it be books, music or knowledge of games, Kuyucu states, "our objective is to be a leader in quality in the retail sector. We will try to take our share of an already existent market while also creating our own potential and enlarging the volume of the sector.
