Due to the start of daylight saving time, office hours for civil servants will change as of Monday. The announcement of the Governorship of Istanbul said that with the decree dated Jan. 27, 2014, and with the number 2014/5883 of the Cabinet, daylight saving time will start on Oct. 26 across the country. "In order to benefit from more sunlight - thus decreasing energy consumption - and also considering traffic in rush hours in the mornings and evenings, the office hours of civil servants employed in our city will be 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. as of Oct. 27 under Article 100 of the Civil Servants Law," read the announcement.
