Turkish TV series selling at top price

Turkish TV series are being sold more expensively today, said Hakan Eren, chief commercial director of Endemol, one of the largest television production companies in the world. Endemol has huge TV formats such as "Deal or Not Deal," "Wipe Out," "Fear Factor," "Money Drop" and "Dance With Me," which Turkish viewers are already familiar with. The administration of Endemol Turkey aims to become number one in the Turkish TV series sector within three years. The company is also seeing actors, actresses and scenarists to film a multinational cinema movie in 2016. Eren said: "Endemol recently allocated a budget of 10 million euros. This is a huge amount of money for Turkish TV series projects. We completed our business plan until 2018. The second largest growth of Endemol is in Turkey after China. As Endemol Turkey, we think we can reach a turnover of TL 120 million in 2015, and our 2018 turnover target is 200 million euros. With those figures, we will enter the top five in the world. Endemol is investing in Turkey to export more TV series."

Eren noted that the company is one hundred percent foreign-capitalized, and it pays its taxes directly to Turkey. "Our most important sales contact is Dubai right now. It pays two-three times higher than NBC for TV series. While some TV series were sold to NBC at $50,000, we sold one episode for $180,000," concluded Eren.

Endemol Turkey, which has produced 49 different projects since it entered the Turkish market in 2008, has produced nearly 1,000 episodes of various entertainment programs equaling 2,500 hours.
