Number of people indebted to banks rises to three million in Turkey

The number of the people who are currently subject to legal proceedings due to personal loans and credit card debts rose by 30,000, reaching 2.98 million in February, according to a report released by the Risk Center of the Banks Association of Turkey.
The report also showed that the number of people whom legal proceedings were previously initiated against and are still under proceedings because of personal loans increased by 0.8 percent to 1.91 million compared to the previous month.
Additionally, the number of people whom legal proceedings were previously initiated against and are still under proceedings because of credit card debts reached 2.07 million with an increase of 1.5 percent in the same period.
