Since Turkey has been a very popular vacation spot for Russian tourists, there have been some worries about whether the interest of Russian tourists in the country will considerably diminish following the Turkish Armed Forces' shooting down of a Russian military jet. Despite concerns, many Russian tour operators have declared no plans to stop selling vacations to Turkey. According to Russian news agency Ria-Novosti, many tour companies such as Pegas Touristik, Coral Travel, Intourist, TEZ Tour and Brisco agreed that since Turkey has been trending among Russian tourists, particularly in the last 13 years, and bearing in mind the halting of flights to Egypt, Turkey has become an even more important alternative for Russian tourists. Thus, they announced that they will continue offering vacation packages to Turkey. On the other hand, some operators were more pessimistic following the incident. These include Natalie Tours and Ros Tourism, which decided to stop offering Turkish vacation packages, attributing security concerns to their decision.
