Turkey will host the international horticultural exposition in 2016 for the first time with Antalya currently carrying out preparations.
The fair will be inaugurated with the theme "Flower and Child" on April 23, the date on which Turkey celebrates April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day. Also, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will inspect the preparations in Antalya next week.
The exposition is planned to be set up in a huge field, which will include an EXPO tower symbolizing Hadrian's Gate, Turkey's first Agriculture and Biodiversity museum, congress center, two amphitheaters, an artificial island for children, and a science and technology center.
The fair is expected to attract more than 8 million tourists, which is expected to compensate the probability that 3 million Russian tourists will not visit Turkey this year.
