In order to improve the volume of business and investment between Turkey and Ukraine, a "Turkey-Ukraine Business/Industry Forum" will be organized in Kocaeli on June 1 through 4.
The ambassador of Ukraine in Ankara, Sergiy Korsunskyi, will attend the opening ceremony of the forum organized in collaboration with the Eurasia Economic Relations Association, International Turkish Ukrainian Businessmen Association (TUID) and the Kocaeli Chamber of Commerce (KOTO). Turkish and Ukrainian businesspeople will hold bilateral meetings within the scope of the forum, which will kick off at KOTO, and visits to local factories will be on the agenda.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Eurasia Economic Relations Association President Hikmet Eren said that as Turkey's neighbor on the Black Sea, Ukraine was a powerful country with a population of 50 million people and substantial industry.
Stressing that the forum was planned in order to contribute to the economic relations between the two countries as well as to Kocaeli and Turkey in general, Eren pointed out that Ukraine has been going through a huge change in foreign trade, and during this period each step taken between Turkey and Ukraine would present great opportunities in the mid-term.
According to Eren, the reason this event will be held in Kocaeli is because Kocaeli is considered as the industrial base of Eurasia for the 2023 period and a source of pride for Turkey. A group of nearly 60 businesspeople will visit Kocaeli, including deputies and mayors, as well as high-level executives from the Ukrainian Union of Chambers and Exchange Commodities.
