According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) Thursday, calendar-adjusted industrial production decreased by 4.9 percent in July year-on-year. Also, based on monthly comparisons, seasonally- and calendar-adjusted industrial production decreased by 7.0 percent compared with June.
In the sub-sectors of the industry (based on 2010=100), while the mining and quarrying index decreased 0.8 percent and the manufacturing index decreased 6.5 percent, the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index increased 3.1 percent in July, compared with the same month last year.
In addition, compared with the previous month, according to the main industrial groupings (MIGs) classification, the largest decrease was in durable consumer goods by 21.1 percent in July, when the failed coup attempt by the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) was orchestrated with an attempt to destroy the democratic order of the country.
