The World Halal Summit, which will be held at the Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center between Dec. 15 and Dec. 17 in collaboration with the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) and the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), will bring together prominent people in the halal sector and producers from around the world along with 26 high-level speakers from Turkey and 26 countries.
The Halal Expo 2016, a pioneering event that guides the sector by combining the World Summit with the Halal Fair, will unite the leading figures in the sector. Considering the number of Muslims, an important part of the world tourism industry with an economic volume of more than $1 trillion consists of buyers of halal tourism.
Yunus Ete, the chairman of Discoverevents, which organized the event that will determine the world halal standards, said they received requests for the participation from Muslim countries as well as countries like Russia and Spain. Stressing that Spain, which has realized the size of the world halal market and has made a serious investment in halal tourism, is very eager to participate in this fair, and Ete noted that they are currently evaluating the country's accordance with the criteria in cooperation with SMICC.
The halal tourism market is an important part of the halal sector, not only for Muslim countries but also for European countries, which have made serious investments in recent years. Halal tourism is expected to increase by 50 percent over the next four years and have an economic volume of $192 billion.
