Turkey's first driverless metro line, set to haul commuters between Üsküdar, Ümraniye, Çekmeköy and Sancaktepe, will be inaugurated tomorrow.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend the inauguration ceremony, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Mevlüt Uysal announced on his Twitter account yesterday.
Reports suggested that the driverless metro will be operated from a remote command center and will reach speeds up to 90 kph.
The line will have 16 stations, including Üsküdar, Fıstıkağacı, Bağlarbaşı, Altunizade, Kısıklı, Libadiye, Çarşı, Ümraniye, İnkılap Mahallesi, Çakmak, Ihlamurkuyu, Altınşehir, Lise, Dudullu, Toplu Konutlar, Çekmeköy and Sancaktepe.
