Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman unveiled on Monday the Ceer Exobot, the flagship electric vehicle from national automotive company Ceer, the state media said.
"The launch of Ceer's first vehicles represents another step forward in Saudi Arabia's progression to build a sustainable and prosperous industrial ecosystem," Crown Prince Mohammed said during the launch ceremony, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The Exobot sedan and SUV models form part of a planned portfolio of seven vehicles that the company will roll out over the next five years.
The company will manufacture these models at the Ceer Manufacturing Complex, the largest automotive production facility in the Middle East.
Domestic engineers designed both vehicles to reflect Saudi culture and landscape while meeting international quality standards.
Ceer projects that its operations are expected to contribute over 30 billion Saudi riyals ($8 billion) to the national gross domestic product (GDP) and more than 80 billion riyals ($21 billion) to the trade balance by 2034.
The Public Investment Fund (PIF), which established Ceer in 2022 as the first Saudi vehicle brand, drives the initiative to diversify the national economy and create high-quality jobs.
