Artificial intelligence adoption among businesses in Türkiye has reached 51%, according to a study titled "Unlocking Türkiye's AI Potential in 2026," prepared by international research firm Strand Partners for Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The study, conducted in line with international MRS and ESR standards, surveyed 1,000 members of the general public and 1,000 business leaders. The findings show that AI has moved beyond the curiosity stage and is increasingly translating into measurable efficiency gains and innovation across companies' core business processes.
According to the research, the share of businesses in Türkiye using AI rose from 37% to 51% over the past year, representing annual growth of 38%. This places Türkiye among the world's fastest-growing AI markets and brings it closer to the 64% adoption rate recorded in the United Kingdom, where cloud infrastructure is widely used.
Meanwhile, 66% of business leaders in Türkiye describe AI as either a top or high-level strategic priority.
Assessing the findings, AWS Türkiye General Manager Berrin Özselçuk highlighted the Turkish business community's determination to adopt new technologies.
"Leadership in Türkiye does not wait for perfect conditions; it takes action. Businesses are rapidly adopting AI and moving beyond the question of 'Can we use this?' to focus on 'How can we scale it responsibly?'" she said.
Özselçuk said AWS was investing in regional infrastructure, partnerships and AI capabilities to equip organizations with the technical capabilities and controls needed to move beyond experimentation and generate real-world impact.
She cited examples including the use of AI to improve customer experience at fast delivery startup Getir and its impact on employee experience through solutions such as Kahin at companies including appliance and electronics firm Vestel.
Among startups incorporating AI into their operations, 88% said the technology had accelerated their innovation processes, while 68% reported benefiting from advanced automation and productivity gains. Another 53% said AI had directly contributed to revenue growth.
The figures point to AI becoming a significant growth lever for young and dynamic companies.
Despite the strong momentum in the market, business leaders surveyed also identified the main barriers to transformation and areas where further support is needed.
Some 54% of businesses identified a shortage of qualified talent as the biggest obstacle. This was followed by the need for a clear governance and regulatory framework and access to financing to support growth.
AWS said it has so far provided AI and cloud training to more than 680,000 people across the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye, and aims to reach 2 million people by 2030.
As part of its partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB), the company is also providing financial support for SMEs and startups.
The targets outlined in the study are also aligned with the vision of Türkiye's National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (2021-2025) and Artificial Intelligence Action Plan (2026-2030).
Network equipment maker TP-Link has unveiled Wi-Fi 8 technology and its new product family using the technology in Türkiye for the first time.
According to the company, the focus is shifting from the high-speed promise that defined previous generations of Wi-Fi to a stronger and more reliable connection experience under real-world conditions.
Based on the IEEE 802.11bn standard, which has not yet officially come into effect, Wi-Fi 8 is designed to address three key problems: weak coverage at the farthest points of the home, inefficiencies in networks where large numbers of devices are connected simultaneously, and the impact of interference on connectivity.
TP-Link's "Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine" technology has been developed to provide a more consistent connection throughout the home by strengthening coverage, managing network congestion and reducing interference.
Ryan Yang, country manager of TP-Link Türkiye, said the company's focus was on providing a connectivity experience that users could "rely on in every room, on every device and at every moment of the day." Yang added that the company would continue bringing next-generation connectivity technologies to users in Türkiye.
Archer NB450 (5G + Wi-Fi 7): The device offers plug-and-play connectivity via a SIM card, with 5G download speeds of up to 4.67 Gbps and dual-band Wi-Fi 7 speeds of up to 7.2 Gbps. It features a 2.5 Gigabit port and EasyMesh compatibility and supports connections from up to 200 devices simultaneously. It is positioned for homes without fixed internet infrastructure and temporary-use locations.
Archer GE800 (gaming router): The device offers tri-band Wi-Fi 7 speeds of up to 19 Gbps and 10 Gigabit ports. It prioritizes gaming traffic.
Deco BE85 (mesh): The device offers tri-band Wi-Fi 7 speeds of up to 19 Gbps, 10 Gigabit wired networking support and AI-powered seamless roaming technology.
Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin this week shared digital infrastructure investments, a tech-focused growth strategy and sustainability roadmap of one of Türkiye's leading telecoms and technology companies.
Şahin's presentation came on the sidelines of the 19th Türkiye Investment Conference in the United States.
Şahin outlined the company's strategy and vision, highlighting the strength of its technology infrastructure.
Türk Telekom is supporting this year's edition of the annual U.N. climate conference, COP31, which will be held in Türkiye in November, as a "Master Partner" and will contribute to the event's technology infrastructure.
At the conference in the U.S., the company also showcased its investments in next-generation network technologies, cybersecurity, data centers and energy efficiency.
"We are pleased to be among the global players helping shape the world of tomorrow as the 'Global Digital Transformation and Technology' supporter of COP31, which reflects Türkiye's strong position on the global climate agenda and its vision for the future," Şahin said.
Şahin said Türk Telekom has approximately 58 million subscribers and is Türkiye's first integrated operator. He noted that the company has invested $24.5 billion in Türkiye since 2005 and has been the sector's investment leader for the past five years.
He added that the company is expanding its fiber infrastructure, conducting domestic research and development (R&D) efforts in next-generation network technologies and integrating environmentally friendly technologies into its network.
The company said its energy-efficiency initiatives implemented in 2025 generated annual savings of 46.7 gigawatt-hours (GWh). While solar energy systems are being expanded at base stations, next-generation cooling systems are being integrated into fixed and mobile networks.
Technologies designed to improve energy efficiency are also being deployed at data centers. Meanwhile, Türk Telekom's venture capital arm TT Ventures is running an electric vehicle charging network project under the name E4 Şarj.
Chinese companies continue to challenge the AI leadership that the U.S. has been trying to maintain by a wide margin.
After the impact created by DeepSeek last year, another open-source model is now making waves. And this time, the threat is bigger. Because the claim is not only about inference performance and cost, but also about the hardware side, although it has yet to be independently verified.
Z.ai says GLM-5.3-Flash is offered at $0.15 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens, with all requests processed on Chinese-made chips. The company also claims that its cost per token is comparable to mainstream Nvidia GPUs.
Nvidia's own line of defense is built around exactly this metric: the company says Blackwell reduces the cost per token by up to 35 times compared with Hopper. In other words, the debate is no longer about "who has the fastest chip," but "who has the cheapest token."
Leadership in open models has shifted to China, while pressure on pricing and usage is also coming from China. In frontier intelligence, however, a nine-point gap has yet to be closed.
Z.ai's claim has not been independently verified. The company is known not to have disclosed which manufacturers supplied the chips.
According to a technical assessment, the announcement does not identify the accelerator, provide power-consumption figures or cover training; the claim applies only to serving, or inference.
Nvidia had already moved toward inference. The company's annual report says it has made inference a priority across the company and describes a new ultralow-latency inference layer added to the Vera Rubin platform using Groq technology.
xAI's move, meanwhile, is based on a different logic. Nvidia joined xAI's planned $20 billion funding round with up to $2 billion in equity investment, while the deal was structured in a way that would help xAI purchase more Nvidia hardware.
Nvidia also participated as a backer in the $5.4 billion fund established in June 2026 to purchase Nvidia GPUs for xAI, with commentators again describing it as "circular financing."
