Google Cloud services experienced serious network disruptions at its European data center based in London on Tuesday, according to the tech giant's service health website.
Digital banking provider Revolut said it is facing disruption to multiple services, which a source close to the matter attributed to the Google Cloud outage.
"Multiple Google Cloud services are experiencing elevated errors and intermittent network failures in europe-west2 region," Google said in a service update referring to its London data center.
Apart from Revolut, Lloyds Bank and HSBC were among those affected, while home improvement retailer Screwfix and delivery company DPD also experienced problems, according to Downdetector, which tracks user reports of service disruptions.
Millions of Revolut customers have reportedly been unable to access their accounts or make card payments following a system outage.
The digital banking platform, which serves more than 80 million customers globally, including 13 million in the U.K., said that some services were unavailable due to a "service disruption."
