Obama leaves office by harming Turkey-US relations

The incoming Trump administration will suffer from Obama's mistakes in Iraq and Syria, as Turkey is experiencing right now

As Turkey, we can take all kinds of precautions against imminent and distant dangers that threaten us. Indeed, we are doing this. Our struggle against the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), PKK and all terrorist organizations has reached incredible dimensions. Our security forces continue to carry out an effective fight both at home and beyond our borders through the Operation Euphrates Shield. We can do these things. But there are also things that we cannot do.

Mental deficiency

For example, we cannot export reason and commonsense to the U.S. How and to who can we explain the mistake that the U.S. country, which is experiencing the turmoil of transition from Barack Obama's period to Donald Trump's period, provided weapons, including rockets to be used against air defense missiles and armored vehicles, in seven helicopters to the PKK's Syrian wing, the Democratic Union Party (PYD)?

Outsourcing

Those who are interested in economics know the concept of «outsourcing». In a rough sense, outsourcing is to subcontract every business. When outsourcing suits economic calculations, it is, of course, a rational way to be preferred. Why should a company›s own staff clean its offices? Why should the meal of its employees should be cooked in that company›s kitchen?

Would it ever happen?

However, there are things that you need to leave to others to do. For example, could a woman say, «I hired a carrier woman not to spoil my body and not to miss invitations. And my husband made her pregnant? Or could a superpower say, «Local powers that I hire, instead of my citizens, must fight for me?» Now, the U.S. is doing so both in Iraq and in Syria. As a result of this policy, Turkey-U.S. relations are increasingly deteriorating. In short, Obama›s lack of vision is leaving such a legacy to Trump.
