Turkey's HAVELSAN agree to assist Malaysia with electronic warfare

ANKARA — Turkish defense industry manufacturer HAVELSAN and Malaysian telecommunications company Impressive Communications signed an agreement on Tuesday to help Malaysian army improve its defense capabilities, particularly in the field of electronic warfare.
The two companies expect to develop a long-term relationship that includes cooperation in training engineering students in electronic warfare technologies, according to a press release from HAVELSAN.
With the help of this cooperation, the Malaysian company aims to provide solutions to the Malaysian Armed Forces and other relevant end-users by utilizing both companies' expertise and know-how, the statement said.
Partly owned by a foundation related with Turkish Armed Forces, HAVELSAN provides innovative military software systems to defense and communications industries in Turkey and worlwide.
The company previously signed off cooperation deals with companies based in Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Brunei and Iraq.
