Speaking at the closing session of Innovation Week, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that Turkey will be one of the top 10 economies of the world through innovation. "Production and marketing will lead you to a point.
After that, we won't be able to reach our goals without opening an area for design of goods and services, developing, commercializing and marketing" Erdoğan said. Erdoğan said that Turkey still cannot reach the desired level in systematic working and that applications for EU funds will remained limited for many years.
"Do you know the reason behind this? It's interesting. The public and private sectors had difficulties with fulfilling the necessary forms and following the process.
That is what we call surviving in the sea and drowning in the river. Turkey deals with struggles and challenges with endless efforts and deserves the right to get EU funds and accomplishes financial obligations.
But our people can't benefit from this because of not fulfilling the formalities to ensure the functioning of the system" Erdoğan said. Pointing to the youth potential of Turkey, Erdoğan said, "As the government and the private sector, we are going to open their ways and we will work on innovation with our young people. Do not hesitate on this."
