The dollar continues to rise against the Turkish lira in parallel with anxieties stemming from the North Korea hydrogen bomb test, the slowdown in the Chinese economy, the recent Iran-Saudi Arabia dispute, and the negative performance of emerging economies' currencies.
As of early Wednesday morning and for the first time since Oct. 2, the dollar reached the level of 3.0143 against the lira.
The dollar closed Tuesday at 2.9780 against the lira.
The dollar set its record high against Turkish lira at 3.073 on Sep. 24, 2015.
Experts indicate that the minutes of the Federal Reserve's last meeting, which will be released on Wednesday, will also influence the dollar's performance against other currencies. If the dollar stays above the value of 3.00 against the lira, its rise might continue until it reaches the level of 3.07-3.08, experts say.
