Turkey's stock exchange hits new record high

The Istanbul stock market reached another record high on Tuesday, rising 228.56 points to open at 110,009.69. The BIST 100 rose 0.21 percent to its peak since opening in April 2013. The banking and holding sectors rose 0.28 percent and 0.11 percent, respectively.

Mining performed best of all sectors, up 1.95 percent, while the only decrease was seen in the food and beverage index, which fell 0.01 percent.
