AK Party gains three Istanbul districts, increases vote by 7 pct

The Justice and Development (AK) Party increased its votes by seven percent in Istanbul where more than 10.4 million voters reside, and gained three Istanbul districts from the runner up Republican People's Party (CHP).
The AK Party increased its votes from 41.11 percent in the June 7 election to 48.72 percent in the Nov. 1 elections.
When compared to the June 7 election, the AK Party increased its votes in three additional districts, namely in Beylikdüzü, Avcılar and Sarıyer.
The CHP's votes also increased from 29.14 percent in the June 7 to 30.27 in the Nov. 1 elections.
The pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party's (HDP) votes decreased from 12.6 percent to 10.12 percent, while the Nationalist Movement Party's (MHP) votes decreased from 11.03 percent to 8.57 percent.
