KAHRAMANMARAŞ — Mitsui energy company, one of the largest in Japan, has conducted feasibility research for two additional plants. It is considering building near two existing coal-fired power plants in Kahramanmaraş province in southeastern Turkey.

Following an examination of the existing Afsin-Elbistan coal-fired power plants, company official Aoki Yuici said Friday that Mitsui had talked to Turkish Power Production Corporation about the two new plants

The Afsin-Elbistan power complex currently consists of two coal-fired power plants in Kahramanmaraş, Afsin-Elbistan A and Afsin-Elbistan B, with a total capacity of 2795 megawatts.

Mitsui will decide whether to invest in C and D plants based on the feasibility report.
