Science, Industry and Technology Minister Fikri Işık and Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yıldız tasked Turkey's state-owned natural gas company BOTAŞ with bringing natural gas to Organized Industry Zones (OSB) at the meeting with bureaucrats. The suggestions for solving facility and operation issues related with natural gas infrastructure were discussed at the meeting and BOTAŞ was assigned the task. BOTAŞ will now deliver natural gas to 25 OSBs located in 22 cities and the remaining works required will be undertaken by the managements of OSBs. For 25 OSBs in 22 cities included in the first and second regions for that are development priority regions where 550-kilometer-long lines will be paved. The total cost of the project will be $65 million. The managements of OSBs to which natural gas will be delivered will distribute the gas to companies through their own means. Işık noted that in this manner, OSBs with occupancy rates over 40 percent and without natural gas will solve these problems and interest in OSBs will increase once infrastructure-related are resolved within the next three years.
