The ceramic works of Spanish Joan Miro, one of the most prominent artists of the 20th century, will be put under the spotlight at Akbank Sanat. Sakine Çil, who has a MA from the Department of Fine Arts at Boğaziçi University, will discusses Joan Miro's ceramic works, which he began together with Josep Llorens Artigas in 1944, and continued until 1977 through exemplary photographs of his works on Jan. 3, 2015, at Akbank Sanat. Miro, who said that ceramic inspires him more than painting, expressed his passion for this art field as follows: "That mysterious aspect of ceramics! It absorbs me more than painting does. In ceramics, I encounter objects that I have never observed in painting. I am influenced by human's struggle with the elements of fire and earth. The more challenging struggle occurs when the piece becomes stronger. It is so Spanish: fire and me. Who tames who?"
