Young and promising bass-baritone, Oğulcan Yılmaz, will be the guest of the Shining Stars series this month. Yılmaz entered Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Opera Department in 2010 and achieved international success with his powerful voice. He won the seventh National İzmir Young Soloists Competition when he was a second year university student. In June 2014, the young operatic singer successfully performed Figaro in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" accompanied by the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Academic Orchestra at the Ankara State Opera and Ballet stage. In July of the same year he participated in the BBC's renowned international competition BBC Cardiff Singer of the World. Receiving critical acclaim from the jury committee, he completed the competition as semi-finalist and was later invited by the BBC to perform in Vienna in November. During his free concert, Yılmaz will perform Mozart, Rossini, Schubert, Adnan Saygun and Tchaikovsky with pianist Fügen Yiğitgil.
